Where do your beliefs come from?

What I mean is, what formed your beliefs? Do you have the same beliefs as your parents and the people who raised you? Were you taught the way you think and believe by your family, or in school, did you question what you were taught? Why do you believe what you do?

Any kind of belief goes, religious, political, whatever.

I have some of the same beliefs as my parents, but I didn't grow up being taught any religion strongly. I agree with them about 50% on politics. I guess I was raised to question things though, so a lot of my beliefs have come from questioning things and reading from a lot of different sources. That's why I ask so many questions.

I think I got the roots of my beliefs from my parents, who of course educated me and instilled their values. I also think my school education predisposed me to look at things logically.

From there, once I hit my teen years and through adulthood, I applied logic'n reason to question things as they are and debate with others. In that, I came to form my own more crystalized beliefs.

So, the apple didn't fall that far from the tree especially as I got along well with my folks. But I came to my own conclusions.

So what'm I? I identify as a deistic gay guy with some furry interest. Politically I tend to think of myself as centralist on the cusp of libertarianism. I think that most any governmental involvement and control should center around the idea of harm reduction, and if there ain't no harm, then government should stay out of things.
